Providing Support & Guidance without Restriction
Our Ethos
All Inicio provisions provide a safe, stable, nurturing and stimulating environments for children, young people and vulnerable adults. A skilled, experienced and dedicated staff team provide an excellent standard of support.
We believe that individuals respond best and are able to reach their full potential when they are looked after in an environment in which people are genuinely interested in their welfare, take time to get to know them and their needs, and ensure that those needs are met.
We understand that individuals with emotional, behaviour and social difficulties (EBSD) respond best to calm, orderly and consistent support and will ensure that these are established and maintained.
We believe that young people and vulnerable adults should enjoy the experience of being supported and always receive unconditional positive regard. They should have the opportunity of making and sustaining positive relationships with the people who support them, with other peers with whom they live and people in the community with whom they come into contact.
We also recognise the importance of relationships with family and friends and will encourage and actively promote contact with these important people (subject to their Placement Support Plan and Risk Management Plan) in order to retain their links with the past and to facilitate the transition into adulthood.
Our Principles
Our Principles
To allow individuals to be themselves and be able to make mistakes in a controlled environment supporting them to learn from these without fear or prejudice or judgement by treating them with dignity and respect at all times.
We actively encourage and operate anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice. Everyone is treated with equality and as individuals, with reflection given towards gender, race, culture, sexual orientation, age, ability and religious beliefs.
Individuals are included in all decision in regards to their future and are actively involved in all aspects of their support planning therefore any plans put in place are realistic and attainable creating a culture of achievement and self –worth.
Individuals are encouraged and supported in leading as normal life as possible, being actively involved in the local community as well as developing and pursing leisure interests and hobbies as well as having access to education and employment opportunities.
Regardless of the duration of a placement we ensure that support, guidance and opportunities are provided without restriction as we believe everybody has the capacity to achieve no matter how small it may be.
