The wellbeing of children and young people is closely tied to the health of our planet. Climate change and environmental challenges often affect vulnerable communities the most, including those we work with.
Our Sustainability Initiatives
We are committed to operating in a responsible and sustainable way. We seek to reduce our environmental impact through efficient use of resources, sustainable purchasing, waste reduction, and responsible business practices. By considering sustainability in our decisions, we aim to create lasting positive outcomes for our children and young people, communities, and the environment.
We encourage more sustainable travel choices wherever possible. Through our salary sacrifice electric vehicle scheme, colleagues can access a cost-effective way to drive lower-emission vehicles. By supporting greener transport options, we aim to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
We promote eco friendly care by encouraging young people to develop sustainable habits within their homes and communities. This includes reducing waste, recycling, conserving energy and water, and making thoughtful choices about resources. Staff support young people to understand the environmental impact of everyday decisions while developing independence and responsible living skills. There is also a dedicated chapter of our life skills programme My Pathway; Journey to Independence on sustainable living.
We support young people to become active and positive members of their local communities. Staff encourage participation in community activities, volunteering, education, employment and local services, to help young people build confidence and independence. As a company, we also support local authority young people’s events through donations, helping create positive opportunities and experiences.
