Residential Childcare Worker (Children’s Residential)

We’ve recently opened a new home for children in Salford and are building a team of kind, reliable, and caring adults who can help create something special. No experience in residential care? Responsibilities:

You’ll be part of a close-knit team helping children feel safe, supported, and optimistic about their future. You’ll:

  • Build relationships based on trust, consistency and respect
  • Support daily routines – school runs, meals, activities, emotional support
  • Be a reliable adult during challenging moments
  • Record key events and insights that help show each child’s progress
  • Champion education, wellbeing, life skills and positive experiences
  • Help make the house feel like home

Requirements:

This could be right for you if:

  • You’ve worked in care, education, youth work, or similar roles
  • Or, you’ve never worked in this field but have life experience, emotional resilience and a natural way with people
  • You stay calm in tough moments and want to learn how to support children through trauma
  • You’re comfortable working alone at times and following structured routines
  • You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (essential)
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare or Level 4 qualification in Children, Young people and Families (Desired but not essential – we would support with a Fully funded Level 4 qualification in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner if not already obtained)

Candidates will be required to make a payment for right to work checks, ID checks, and DBS applications (where applicable) . This charge will be a maximum of £74.70, and any costs are refundable to the employee after completion of induction.

Benefits:
  • £1,000 welcome bonus (£500 on successful completion of induction, £500 on successful completion of probation)
  • 1 day on, 2 days off – average of 10 working days per month
  • Paid overtime (£14.50/hr)
  • Sleep-ins available as required (£75 per night)

 

Welcome bonus T&C’s: Inicio Group reserves the right to reclaim the welcome bonus if the employee voluntarily leaves or is dismissed for misconduct within 12 months of their start date. Any reclaim will be calculated on a pro-rata basis at 1/12th of the total bonus for each full month not completed. Please note: Inicio Group adhere to safer recruitment policy and practice.
