Senior Residential Childcare Worker (Children’s Residential)

Inicio is one of the UK’s largest providers of Care, Support, and Education to Children, Young People, & Families. We’ve recently opened a new home for children in Salford and we’re building a team of kind, reliable, and caring adults who can help create something special.

This is a senior role, ideal for someone with experience in residential care who’s ready to step up, lead by example, and support others to thrive.

Responsibilities:

What you’ll do:
You’ll be part of a close-knit team helping children feel safe, supported, and optimistic about their future. As a Senior, you’ll also lead shifts and support colleagues. You’ll:

  • Build relationships based on trust, consistency and respect
  • Support daily routines – school runs, meals, activities, emotional support
  • Be a calm and reliable presence during challenging moments
  • Lead shifts, model good practice, and support colleagues on shift
  • Oversee medication, risk assessments, and key records
  • Champion education, wellbeing, life skills and positive experiences
  • Help make the house feel like home
Requirements:

What we’re looking for:
This could be right for you if:

  • You’ve worked in residential childcare or a similar setting
  • You hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People/ Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • You’re confident leading a shift and supporting other staff
  • You’re emotionally resilient, calm in a crisis and motivated to make a difference
  • You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (essential)
Benefits:
  • £1,000 welcome bonus (£500 on successful completion of induction, £500 on successful completion of probation)
  • 1 day on, 2 days off – average of 10 working days per month
  • Paid overtime (£14.50/hr)
  • Sleep-ins available as required (£75 per night)

 

Welcome bonus T&C’s: Inicio Group reserves the right to reclaim the welcome bonus if the employee voluntarily leaves or is dismissed for misconduct within 12 months of their start date. Any reclaim will be calculated on a pro-rata basis at 1/12th of the total bonus for each full month not completed. Please note: Inicio Group adhere to safer recruitment policy and practice. If successful in the role, all candidates are subject to pre-employment checks. Candidates will be required to make a payment for right to work checks, ID checks, and DBS applications (where applicable) . This charge will be a maximum of £74.70, and any costs are refundable to the employee after completion of induction.
